Education - Bachelor Degree in Instrumentation Engineering or Equivalent Ideally – Master’s Degree in Instrumentation Engineering or Equivalent.

Experience: 15+ years’ experience in a Chemical Process Plant Laboratory and at least 5 years in a senior supervisory capacity.

· Coordinates and directs the activities of the Field execution workgroup to ensure that the reliability and availability of plant systems and equipment.

· Ensures that the interfaces between the Field execution, Condition Monitoring, Project

Engineering, Operations and other support groups are seamless.

· Budget and cost control: Ensures that a (3) three year work spending plan is prepared and submitted for approval in a timely manner.

· Prepares annual workgroup budget.

· Implements cost control practices consistent with Company Policies.

· Budget close off / Accruals for the succeeding year.

· Plant Instrumentation: Reviews plant equipment Instrumentation projections and schedules.

· Ensures that equipment preventive Instrumentation programmes are implemented as per the agreed schedule. Monitors the effectiveness of the programmes, Instrumentation works and

make recommendations.

· Ensures that proper standards, codes and practices are applied by technical personnel in the execution of field Instrumentation work.

· Acts as a technical resource and provides guidance in the development of inspection overhaul and repair procedures in accordance with accepted industry standards and practices.

· Ensures the efficient use of all available resources, in-house and contractors in the execution of

Instrumentation works on the plant.

· Implements policies with respect to equipment long term planning end of life, repair and replacement actions.

· Ensure that a system is developed and maintained to record equipment information which allows an efficient and reliable source of historical and analytical data.

· Monitors the use of work order management system for routine and non-routine Instrumentation activities.

· Materials Management: Review the stock of critical spares and inventory of materials, tools etc.

In relation to Instrumentation works scheduled and projected and makes recommendations.

· Turnaround/Outage Management: Direct Instrumentation activities in abnormal situations, unplanned shutdowns and provides technical support to secure minimum shutdown in both planned and unplanned shutdowns.

· Manages turnaround jobs in accordance with the schedule and budget.

· Monitors execution of turnaround jobs to ensure that general HSE, Quality and production targets are met.

· Responsible for all company assets and operations of the facility whilst on duty.

· Responsible for maintaining a consistent line of communication with all Plant personnel on all matters relative to the Field Execution function or changes in related Company Policy.

· Department monthly reporting and special reports as requested.
