Key Responsibilities
– Lead and supervise the welding team to ensure efficient production operations
– Develop, review, and optimize welding procedures (WPS/PQR)
– Ensure welding activities comply with quality standards and project specifications
– Monitor production schedules and coordinate with fabrication and quality teams
– Troubleshoot welding and fabrication issues on the shop floor
– Ensure adherence to safety standards and welding best practices
– Train and mentor welders and junior engineers
– Work closely with QA/QC to maintain welding quality and documentation
Requirements / Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Welding, or Metallurgical Engineering
– 5–8 years of experience in welding production or fabrication industry
– Additional welding certification such as CSWIP 3.1 / CSWIP 3.2, AWS CWI, or IWE
– Strong knowledge of welding processes (GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, FCAW)
– Experience in WPS, PQR, and welder qualification
– Ability to lead and manage production teams
– Knowledge of welding codes and standards (ASME, AWS, EN) preferred
