Design Literacy - Instructor/Lecturer

Type: Part-Time

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging lectures on design fundamentals, history, and contemporary issues.
• Guide students in exploring and applying design principles in practical projects.
• Develop and update course syllabi and learning materials that reflect current trends and innovations in design.
• Provide academic and career guidance to students pursuing careers in design and related fields.
• Mentor students in developing critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills through studio work and independent projects.
• Develop and implement assessment strategies to evaluate student progress and performance.
• Provide constructive feedback on student work, focusing on both technical proficiency and conceptual development.
• Coordinate with the academic administration to ensure alignment with program goals and standards.
• Advocate for inclusive design practices that consider diverse user needs and cultural contexts.
• Teach students the importance of accessibility and ethical considerations in design.

Requirements:

• Master's or Ph.D. in Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience at the university level.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in design and communication skills.
• Must be fluent in English (Arabic will be an added advantage)
• Must currently reside in Qatar hold a valid Qatari ID
