Skills required for a logistics supervisor:

Job duties of the logistics supervisor:

1. Production Planning and Execution
- Oversee the production process, ensuring products are manufactured according to specifications, on time, and within budget.
- Develop and implement production Plans & schedules based on project timelines, ensure meeting the delivery date, resource availability, and customer demands.
- Allocate resources (manpower, materials, and equipment) effectively to optimize production output. Dividing, Organizing the jobs to batches with assigning particular manpower and time measured.
- To be In charge and to Follow up with (NMRs) team to ensure submittals on time as per the plan ( Timing) , and monitoring the bill of material lists.

2. Team Management
Supervise and lead the production team, including technicians, engineers, and other production staff. Train, mentor, and assess the performance of production staff to ensure adherence to best practices and safety protocols.

3. Technical Expertise in Explosion-Proof Products
Ensure the production of explosion-proof electrical products, like control panels, switch racks, relays, and contactors, meets industry standards (e.g., ATEX, IECEx).
Review and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics to guide production teams and troubleshoot technical issues.
Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure the proper selection of components (e.g., diodes,
relays, and contactors) to meet design and safety requirements.

4. Quality Control (QC) and Compliance
Implement and monitor quality control processes to ensure products meet industry and regulatory standards (such as ISO, IEC, or other relevant standards).
Conduct regular inspections and tests on products to ensure compliance with customer and safety specifications, especially for explosion-proof certifications.
Ensure the implementation of corrective actions when quality issues arise.

5. Knowledge of Aramco Standards and Approval
Ensure all products and processes comply with Saudi Aramco standards for electrical products, including any additional documentation, certification, or testing required.
Work closely with Aramco inspectors or auditors, ensuring all production activities adhere to Aramco- approved procedures.

6. Safety and Compliance with Explosion-Proof Standards
Ensure the implementation of safety standards and compliance with explosion-proof regulations throughout the production process.
Regularly update production procedures and safety measures to comply with evolving industry regulations, particularly those related to hazardous environments.

7. Cost Management and Efficiency
Monitor production costs and implement measures to reduce waste and inefficiencies.
Work closely with procurement to ensure the cost-effective sourcing of materials while maintaining quality and safety standards.

8. Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve production processes, reduce downtime, and increase efficiency through automation, process optimization, or workforce training.
Use lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies (if applicable) to enhance production flow and minimize defects.

9. Documentation and Reporting
Maintain comprehensive records of production activities, quality control measures, and compliance reports.
Generate reports on production output, quality issues, and overall performance for senior management and regulatory bodies.

10. Collaboration with Other Departments
Invent, perform, and work closely with design and engineering teams to ensure that all products meet design specifications and customer requirements.
Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and sales to ensure that all products are delivered on time and meet client expectations.
In a company that supplies electrical products to Aramco, having a production manager with Aramco approval is a significant advantage, ensuring adherence to the strict standards required by Aramco for contractors and suppliers.

11. Warehouse and Inventory Management
Oversee the storage, organization, and inventory of raw materials, components (e.g., wiring, relays, diodes, control panels, and contactors), and finished products.
Implement an inventory control system to track stock levels, ensuring that materials are available for production without overstocking.
Monitor the expiration and shelf life of critical components, especially those that require special handling or storage conditions.
Conduct regular stock checks and audits to ensure accurate inventory records, reducing discrepancies and preventing shortages or overages.

12. Supply Chain Coordination
Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure timely ordering of materials based on production schedules, and maintain good relationships with suppliers to ensure the continuous flow of materials. Track delivery schedules and verify the quality and quantity of materials received from suppliers.
Ensure compliance with Aramco-approved suppliers and maintain records of all approved materials.

13. Logistics and Material Handling
Coordinate material flow from the warehouse to the production floor, ensuring that the right materials are delivered on time to avoid production delays.
Optimize space utilization and design an efficient layout for material storage, ensuring easy access to frequently used components.
Supervise the safe handling, packing, and transportation of materials to prevent damage, especially for sensitive explosion-proof electrical components.
