Qatar Airways (QR) has embarked on an exciting transformation journey to change how we manage the risks facing the Business. As part of this journey, we are now recruiting for the role of Senior Manager Enterprise Risk Management.

Job Purpose
Assist the Head of Department in developing, improving and managing the implementation of QR’s ERM strategy and framework across the organization by facilitating the identification, assessment and prioritization of all types of key risks through the development of standards and methods for managing, treating, monitoring and reporting risks.

Work with Senior Management to ensure that risk management is an integral part of the strategic planning and decision-making processes and is closely linked to the organisation’s business objectives and performance metrics.

Job Accountabilities

Support the Head Of Department in the preparation and execution of the Executive Risk Committee.

Assist the HOD in the development of the risk management function to serve as a key stepping stone towards the company’s adoption of Corporate Governance. Responsible for strengthening the risk governance structure to ensure sound risk management throughout the Divisions that they are responsible for.
Drive the implementation of local and global regulatory Enterprise Risk Management requirements within the respective parts of the Business.

Identify and analyse sector trends to continuously improve the ERM approach, including the identification of gaps in processes and capabilities.

Develop and maintain the ERM policies, processes, procedures and systems.
Ensure that QR Divisional business plans takes into account inputs from Divisional risk assessment outputs.

Responsible for aligning risk reporting with organizational performance and strategy reporting, to support decision making and management oversight at the senior levels of the organization.

Oversee communication and education initiatives to foster a risk aware culture throughout the Group.
Collaborate with business units to identify, measure and report on their risk exposures and to ensure risks are managed within risk tolerances.

Provide subject matter expertise and support to senior leaders and managers to execute their risk management responsibilities.

Produce risk reports working with key contributors and support the analysis of significant risks and the appropriate mitigation measures.

Oversee ERM metrics and report performance - quantify, aggregate and prioritize risks for escalation to HOD.

Embed the complete and consistent application of the ERM framework across the Group.

Manage the implementation of the Enterprise Risk Management framework and ensure that QR risk data and the ERM framework comply with all legal, regulatory and corporate requirements.
Chair the quarterly Divisional Risk Committee meetings.

Perform other department duties related to his / her position as directed by the Head of the Department

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent
Minimum 10 years of job related experience within a multi-disciplinary company.
Experience of managing a risk management framework across a reputable organisation.
Previous management responsibility for financial, strategic, operational and regulatory risks
Professional Risk Management Certification.
Data Protection and Privacy experience.
Strong understanding of ERM principles and applications; extensive ERM and business experience.
Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong skills in project management and engagement closure.
Knowledge of Risk Management frameworks.
Good Communication skills
Negotiating skills for implementing the ERM framework at all levels.
Ability to assimilate, analyse and communicate complex concepts in a simple, ‘user-friendly’ manner.
Networking and relationship management skills to develop key relationships at all levels of the organization.
Ability to build trust, confidence and consensus at all levels of the organization, especially the C suite.
Knows how to balance patience with momentum – works with a sense of urgency
