Job Summary:
Lead a team to manage of all activities associated with formation, tendering, award and administration of assigned contract packages and perform the same.
Activities include delivery of critical items required from initial project set-up, through to developing a team, establishing coordinated procedures and controls, to management of team(s) with accountability for work product to project milestones, quality and safety standards.
Significant proactive engagement required with the project management team, other departments, customers and stakeholders to enable successful alignment on systems, processes, procedures and the critical activities for project success. Performs other duties as assigned. #LI-RG1
Major Responsibilities:
Pre-Award:
Forming and issuing tender packages, tracking and closing queries, receiving and evaluating proposals, conforming of contracts, and providing input to the recommendations for award.
Meetings/workshops such as bid clarification and pre-award meetings for the purpose of ensuring complete understanding and agreement between Bechtel, the client and contractor on all contractual matters
Prepares and manages the preparation of contract documents for execution with Customer’s Legal Advisors
Preparing, maintaining and managing reports, registers, presentations and correspondence
Other pre-award duties as assigned
Post-Award:
Leads others on and performs contracts administration activities, including: preparation, maintaining, and implementation of applicable procedures.
Review of Contract terms and conditions to identify and monitor areas of risk, ambiguities, conflicts or deviations from the scope of work
Development and implementation of appropriate mechanisms to monitor compliance with contract terms and conditions
Resolution of Contract claims as they develop, including engagement of legal department where necessary
Obtaining and/or managing the receipt of all contract deliverables for handover and close-out of contracts
The preparation and maintenance of reports, registers, presentations, and correspondence
Education and Experience Requirements:
Minimum 20 years of relevant experience in Contracts or Commercial Management
Degree in Business, Quantity Surveying, Law, Engineering or other applicable field.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Leadership and teamwork capabilities suitable for managing a workforce of many nationalities and backgrounds.
Extensive skill in working and communicating effectively, both orally and in writing, with other project functional groups, Customers and Stakeholders.
Experience and completion of courses in pricing, contract law, contract drafting, contract administration and negotiation, planning and scheduling.
Must be proficient in English language, orally and written.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in Commercial or Contracts Management on mega-projects; preference given to experience on mega-infrastructure projects
10 years of team leadership.
Experience Middle East / Saudi Arabia
Experience managing large teams
Arabic is beneficial
