KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Team Guidance:
Organises and supervises the work of the assigned team to ensure that all work within a specific area of the activity is carried out in an efficient manner, which is consistent with operating procedures and policy.
Whenever the job holder leads the measurements activities, directly supervises the measurement team involved, providing on-the-job training and constructive feedback to assigned team to support their overall development.
Provides comprehensive support and training for new members of the measurement team and for the participants of measurements activities at clients’ sites.
Promotes the organization’s values and ethics in all activities within the team to support the establishment of a value drive culture within the organization.
Budgeting and Financial Performance:
Monitors the financial performance of a given area of activity versus budgets and ensure all activities are carried out in line with the approved guidelines while promptly reporting on any variances to management.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures:
Provides inputs and implements policies, systems, and procedure for the assigned team so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements, fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.
Day-To-Day Operations:
Leads the effective conducting of all functions of cell technologies which effectively assists the Engineer and Supervisor of Technology Transfer.
Provides specialist support in measuring and collecting all relevant information relating to the operations and process and Technology transfer related Project internally or externally
Leads the timely documentation of data in the designated formats.
Leads/prepares preliminary reports, presentations as per defined guidelines.
Plans and conducts process improvement projects & measurements campaigns for different trials in various cell technologies.
Leads and maintenance the upkeep of tools and equipment in good working order.
Works directly with designers and engineers to define special measurements, tools and equipment required for the validation process.
Maintains databases of all special measurements, analyses to support effective operations.
Collaboration and Networking:
Coordinates with cross-functional teams to enable effective flow of information and delivery of services.
Provides assistance for TD&T departments through providing reliable technical information, conducting trails and measurements for cell technologies.
Environment, Health & Safety:
Ensures compliance with all relevant safety, health and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls.
Leads and ensured compliance with procedures and processes for various technologies from the safety, quality, and environmental aspects and according to the company’s standard.
Proactively highlights safety hazards, operations and observations and effectively communicate to related department
Reviews and suggests safety related issues improvement in routine and project task.
Leads the effective compliance of team to EGA’s and external clients’ EHS guidelines during missions at clients’ sites.
Ensures adherence of the measurements team (led by the job holder) to EHS guidelines at clients’ sites.
Leads/prepares risk assessments for new work methods, equipment as well as for the current methods and equipment but performed at different conditions, Technologies, sites (for both EGA and clients’ sites).
Improves existing procedure EHS points using lessons learnt from other sites.
Ensures that all operation & EHS related procedure are updated and reviewed periodically to reflect most valid and current measurement techniques.
Gathers and shares measurement information based on site specific tools and locations.
Continuous Improvement:
Participates in the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.
Reporting:
Prepares sectional statements and reports timely and accurately to meet EGA and department requirements, policies, and quality standards.
Shares technical reports with teams involved when requested.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications:
Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum Experience:
Five (5) years’ experience in relevant fields, such as planning, conducting process trials and measurements and preparing reports and presentations.
Knowledge of operational activities & pot control systems to evaluate their impact on process measurements and aluminium production efficiency.
Skills:
Knowledge in Operational dependency on process of Reduction Cell technologies
Knowledge of Anode spent material and Cell lining construction and Autopsy of cell for improvement of new generation.
Knowledge of Data acquisition, e.g., SCADA and Data Logger programming
Efficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge in AutoCAD and engineering drawings.
Use of new data analytics software.
