We are looking for a skilled GIS Engineer with expertise in ArcFM software, conduit and fiber networks, ODB, and their connectivity. The ideal candidate will support the design, analysis, and management of utility and telecom GIS data while ensuring accurate network modeling.
Key Responsibilities:
•Develop, maintain, and analyze GIS datasets for fiber and conduit networks.
•Utilize ArcFM to design, edit, and update spatial data related to ODB (Optical Distribution Box) and other telecom infrastructure.
•Ensure accurate connectivity between fiber cables, conduits, and associated assets.
•Perform spatial analysis and generate reports/maps for planning and operational needs.
•Collaborate with engineering and field teams to integrate GIS data with network planning and asset management
•Troubleshoot and resolve data inconsistencies in ArcFM and related GIS systems.
•Work on fiber route planning, splicing, and connectivity modeling within GIS environments.
Required Qualifications:
✔ Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
✔ 2+ years of experience in GIS, preferably in the telecom or utility sector.
✔ Hands-on experience with ArcFM and ArcGIS (desktop & enterprise).
✔ Strong understanding of fiber optic and conduit network connectivity.
✔ Familiarity with ODB (Optical Distribution Box) and telecom network design.
✔ Knowledge of splicing diagrams, fiber strands, and network topology.
✔ Proficiency in SQL, Python, or automation tools for GIS is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with ESRI Utility Network Model.
Understanding of network circuits and field data collection methods.
Knowledge of industry standards like FME, AutoCAD, or Smallworld GIS.
