Hiring: Cost Estimation Engineer – Gas Utility / Energy Sector

About the Role:

We’re seeking a detail-oriented Cost Estimation Engineer to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for gas utility projects in Dubai. The role focuses on analyzing technical drawings, coordinating with internal teams, and developing cost proposals that support project tendering, budgeting, and financial planning.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation & Tendering: Develop detailed cost estimates for gas distribution and utility projects, interpreting project drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.
Budgeting & Cost Control: Assist in project budgeting and monitor costs throughout the project lifecycle, identifying risks and variances.
Vendor & Market Analysis: Source and evaluate supplier quotations, maintain market price data, and track construction trends.
Value Engineering: Support cost optimization efforts while ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.
Documentation & Reporting: Prepare cost breakdowns, estimation reports, and tender submissions. Ensure documentation aligns with internal policies and UAE regulations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, engineering, and project management teams to ensure accurate estimates and smooth project execution.

Key Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 3–6 years in cost estimation within the gas utility, energy, or infrastructure sectors.

Technical Skills:

Proficient in estimation and project management software such as Candy, CostX, Primavera, MS Project, and AutoCAD.
Strong understanding of gas distribution systems, MEP works, and UAE regulatory standards.
Familiarity with tendering procedures and contractual frameworks (FIDIC is a plus).
Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
Languages: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
