Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically proficient Tender Engineer to join our dynamic team. The primary responsibility of this role is to prepare, coordinate, and manage tender processes for our engineering projects, ensuring our bids are competitive, compliant, and technically sound.

Key Responsibilities:

Tender Preparation: Analyze tender documents to understand project scope, specifications, and requirements. Prepare technical proposals, cost estimates, and tender documentation.
Technical Writing: Draft clear, precise, and persuasive tender documents, including methodology descriptions, project schedules, and compliance matrices.
Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams, project managers, and sales staff to gather necessary inputs for tender submissions. Coordinate with external consultants and subcontractors as needed.
Cost Estimation: Develop detailed cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and overheads ensuring all costs are accurately captured and justified within the bid.
Compliance: Ensure all tender submissions comply with client specifications, legal requirements, and company standards. Stay updated on industry regulations and standards.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks in tender proposals and suggest mitigation strategies.
Bid Review and Submission: Participate in bid review meetings to refine and finalize bids. Manage the submission process to meet deadlines.
Post-Tender Analysis: Analyze the outcomes of tenders, whether successful or not, to improve future bidding strategies.
Client Interaction: Occasionally engage with clients to clarify tender requirements or to present the company’s capabilities.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of 5-6 years in a similar role within the engineering or construction industry.
Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of engineering principles relevant to the company's field of operation. Proficiency in cost estimation software and MS Office Suite.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Additional languages are a plus.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in preparing and reviewing technical documents.
Teamwork: Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with project management tools like Primavera or MS Project.
Familiarity with international tendering practices.
Certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2, etc.) is advantageous.
Work Environment:
This role involves office-based work with potential site visits. Some travel might be required based on project needs.
