The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for managing daily warehouse activities, including the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and equipment. This role requires strong leadership skills to supervise warehouse staff effectively while ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations. The successful candidate will report directly to the Warehouse Manager and collaborate closely with other departments to support operational goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping materials.
Lead and manage a team of warehouse staff by providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices within the warehouse environment.
Maintain accurate inventory records through regular audits and cycle counts.
Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to optimize inventory levels and minimize stock discrepancies.
Implement efficient processes for material handling to improve productivity and reduce waste.
Prepare reports on warehouse performance metrics such as inventory turnover rates, order fulfillment accuracy, and labor efficiency.
Address any issues related to damaged goods or discrepancies in shipments promptly.
Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required
Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or similar role in a construction or engineering setting.
Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control procedures.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate a diverse team.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) for reporting purposes; familiarity with WMS software is preferred.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
Knowledge of safety regulations related to warehousing operations (OSHA standards).
Excellent problem-solving abilities; capable of making decisions quickly based on operational needs.
