• Perform and supervise complex radiological procedures, including specialized imaging modalities such as MRI, CT, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, or interventional radiology.
• Ensure the highest quality and accuracy of radiological images by monitoring and maintaining imaging equipment, implementing quality control measures, and following best practices.
• Assess the patient’s medical history, conditions and specific needs to determine the most appropriate radiological procedures and techniques.
• Develop and update radiology protocols and procedures to improve efficiency and patient care while complying with regulatory standards.
• Provide leadership and guidance to radiology technologists, assistants, and support staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
• Assist radiologists in the interpretation of images, collaborate in diagnosis discussions, and contribute to patient management decisions.
• Educate patients and their families on the radiological procedures, risks, and benefits, and address any concerns or questions.
• Stay current with advancements in radiology technology, participate in research projects, and contribute to development of new imaging techniques and technologies.
• Maintain detailed records of procedures, patient information, and diagnostic findings, and communicate results to healthcare providers.
• Ensures departmental policies and procedures are maintained and followed.
• Participates fully in quality improvement activities and other medical staff activities as assigned within the hospital.
• Observance of professional ethical obligations.
