The Radiographer is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging examinations on patients using X-ray, MRI, CT, ultrasound, and other imaging modalities. They ensure high-quality images are produced for accurate diagnosis, while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Operate various imaging equipment such as X-ray machines, MRI, CT scanners, ultrasound devices, etc.
Position patients correctly to obtain optimal images while minimizing radiation exposure.
Adjust equipment settings according to the type of examination and patient condition.
Ensure all images are of high quality and properly labeled for accurate diagnosis.
Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment as needed.
Follow safety protocols and radiation safety standards to protect patients and staff.
Maintain detailed and accurate patient records and imaging logs.
Assist radiologists and medical staff in interpreting images when required.
Keep up-to-date with advances in imaging technology and techniques.
Adhere to hospital/clinic policies, procedures, and confidentiality standards.
Qualifications:
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Radiography or Medical Imaging Technology.
Certification or licensing as per local health authority regulations.
Proven experience working with diagnostic imaging equipment.
Knowledge of radiation safety procedures and protocols.
Good communication and patient care skills.
Attention to detail and technical competence.
