The Instrument Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting instrumentation systems and control devices to ensure accurate measurement and control of industrial processes. They support operational efficiency by ensuring all instrumentation equipment functions correctly and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, calibrate, and maintain process instruments such as sensors, transmitters, control valves, and analyzers.
Troubleshoot and repair faulty instruments and related control systems.
Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on instrumentation equipment.
Read and interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings, schematics, and manuals.
Perform calibration and testing of instruments to ensure accurate readings.
Document maintenance activities, calibration records, and repairs.
Follow safety protocols and comply with relevant standards and regulations.
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new instrumentation systems.
Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to optimize process control.
Keep updated with advancements in instrumentation technology and practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
Diploma or ITI in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.
Proven experience as an Instrument Technician or similar role.
Knowledge of industrial instrumentation and control systems.
Ability to read and interpret P&ID diagrams, electrical schematics, and instrumentation drawings.
Strong troubleshooting and calibration skills.
Familiarity with safety standards such as OSHA, IEC, or local regulations.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
