Role Responsibilities
1. Risk Assessment
Conduct pre-implementation risk assessments and identify mitigation measures in collaboration with Line Leaders.
Review risk assessments and visit sites to ensure compliance with specifications.
2. Corrective Action
Act as a resource for HSE-related issues.
Propose SHE improvements, corrective actions, and resource requirements, and plan their implementation for NCRs issued.
Follow up to ensure corrective actions are completed and compliance is maintained.
Report on departmental performance, especially regarding unresolved issues.
Communicate effectively with government officials, external agencies, industry representatives, consultants, staff, and the public to coordinate inspections and minimize deficiencies.
3. Meetings
Lead CSHE Committee meetings to discuss safety issues, identify problems, and develop solutions.
Conduct routine safety meetings to review procedures and policies.
Organize safety training and demonstrations on the use of safety equipment.
4. Investigation & Reporting
Investigate root causes of SHE complaints from staff, clients, and contractors.
Participate in incident, accident, and near-miss investigations, identifying causes and recommending preventive measures.
Prepare monthly SHE reports, dashboards, statistics, and performance presentations.
5. Emergency Procedures
Conduct regular emergency response drills and maintain records.
Supervise inspection and maintenance of firefighting, safety, and emergency equipment.
Assist in developing and communicating emergency response and evacuation plans for on-site and office staff, ensuring regular updates and staff training.
6. Audit
Inspect workplaces for unsafe conditions and behaviors, minimizing hazards.
Provide detailed audit reports, identify non-conformities, and recommend corrective actions.
Monitor and verify the implementation of corrective measures.
7. Compliance & Documentation
Develop and maintain documentation, operational checks, and reports to ensure compliance with OHSAS 18001/2007 and ISO 14001/2004 standards.
Review and update standards, policies, and procedures.
Ensure regulatory compliance of environment, equipment, and processes.
Verify contractor compliance with safety policies.
Collaborate with engineers to implement hazard controls.
8. Induction & Site Files
Ensure SHE induction is provided to employees, contractors, and visitors before entry.
9. Job Safety & Analysis
Establish Safe Work Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, and Safe Work Instructions.
Monitor implementation and continuous improvement of safety procedures.
10. SHE Administrative Duties
Coordinate and track ongoing safety training for all employees.
Support development and implementation of health and safety programs.
Maintain effective relationships with Operations, Managers, Supervisors, and staff.
Schedule retraining for employees involved in incidents.
Perform additional duties as required.
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
Engineering Degree in a relevant field.
NEBOSH IGC certification or equivalent.
ISO 45001, 14001, or 9001 certification.
Minimum Experience:
2 to 3 years of related SHE experience.
Knowledge & Skills:
Experience in writing SHE reports and policies.
Strong understanding of manufacturing facilities.
Excellent communication skills in English (written and oral).
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
