The School Counsellor provides psychological support, guidance, and counseling services to students to promote their emotional well-being, social development, and academic success. They work closely with students, parents, and staff to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct individual and group counseling sessions for students to address personal, social, and academic challenges.
Assess students' emotional and mental health needs and develop appropriate intervention strategies.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrative staff to support students’ overall well-being.
Develop and implement programs on topics such as bullying prevention, stress management, and social skills.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines in all counseling activities.
Monitor student progress and provide referrals to mental health professionals when necessary.
Keep accurate records of counseling sessions and interventions.
Stay updated with the latest practices in student mental health and counseling.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related field.
Valid certification or license in school counseling or mental health counseling (if applicable).
Proven experience in counseling or student support services preferred.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and empathetic skills.
Ability to handle sensitive issues discreetly and professionally.
