Sr. Buyer
Job Location : Kuwait
Job Responsibilities :
• Strategic Category Management: Develop and implement category strategies to optimize product mix, pricing, and profitability. Conduct market analysis, identify trends, and deliver product innovation.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure product quality, timely delivery, and competitive pricing. Negotiate contracts and drive cost reduction initiatives.
• Financial Performance: Achieve and exceed sales, margin, and inventory turnover targets. Conduct regular performance analysis with merchandising and take corrective actions as needed.
• Team Leadership: Lead and develop a high-performing Junior/Assistant Buyer. Set clear expectations, provide guidance, and foster a collaborative work environment.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with design, merchandising, sourcing office, marketing, sales, VM and operational teams to ensure seamless product lifecycle management.
• Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
• Driving Sales: Lead a culture of driving sales & profits with junior team members and cross functionally
• Digital: work closely with the merchandising, online and marketing teams to deliver online product strategy
Candidate Requirements :
• At least 5 years buying & product development experience
• In-depth knowledge of and experience in buying & product development in Home Furnishings
• Professional development in retail strategy / category management
• Excellent analytical skills and aptitude to draw out plans and assess accurately the market needs for the category
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent MS office skills + knowledge of SAP or Business Objects preferred
• Strong relationship building skills
• Strong negotiation skills
• Organizational leadership skills
