The Instrument Technician Foreman oversees and supervises the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of instrumentation systems within the facility. Responsible for leading a team of technicians, ensuring safety standards, and maintaining the operational integrity of all instrumentation equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate activities of instrument technicians engaged in installation, troubleshooting, calibration, and maintenance of instrumentation systems.
Plan and prioritize work schedules to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
Inspect instrumentation equipment and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in instrumentation and control systems.
Maintain documentation of maintenance activities, calibration records, and inspection reports.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to junior technicians.
Liaise with engineering and operations teams to support project execution and system upgrades.
Order and manage spare parts and tools required for maintenance activities.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize instrumentation reliability and performance.
Qualifications:
Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation & Control Engineering or related field.
Proven experience as an Instrument Technician, preferably in an industrial setting (oil & gas, power, manufacturing, etc.).
Supervisory or team lead experience is preferred.
Strong knowledge of instrumentation systems, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
Familiarity with safety standards and protocols (e.g., OSHA, IEC standards).
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work in a team and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
