The world’s largest Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle facility and large–scale investment in Gasification & associated utilities/facilities. The 4 GW Combined Cycle Power Generation Plant consists of Syngas/ULSD fired Gas Turbines, HRSGs, Steam Turbines, Water Cooled Condenser, Process Steam and Water Systems, including the related equipment, piping and process valves and Sea Water Condenser Cooling system.
Main Purpose of the Position: To analyze and improve process safety systems, conduct risk assessments, support regulatory compliance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance safety performance and mitigate hazards in industrial operations.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Saudi National
Bachelors in Chemical Engineering or Petrochemical Engineering
3 – 7 years of work experience in chemical or petrochemical industry in operations
Experience in an international company with excellent HSE performance/culture
Hands-on experience in HAZOP, LOPA, SIL, PSM audits, and incident investigations
Functional Safety Engineer and CCSP certifications preferred
In-depth understanding of PSM, risk-based process safety (RBPS), and hazard analysis techniques (HAZOP, LOPA, FMEA)
Knowledge of functional safety (IEC 61511, SIL assessment, and safety instrumented systems)
Proficient in conducting process hazard analysis (PHA) and compliance audits
Familiarity with incident investigation techniques
Ability to lead PHA studies, perform advanced risk assessments, and develop safety control strategies.
Strong audit and compliance monitoring skills to ensure regulatory adherence.
Ability to develop and conduct safety training programs for employees.
Effective communication and teamwork across departments, including engineering and operations
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure PSM & Regulatory Compliance: To support the implementation of OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, and industry safety regulations.
Conduct Risk Assessments & Hazard Analysis: To participate in PHA, HAZOP, LOPA, and QRA studies to identify and mitigate risks.
Assist in Incident Investigations: To support root cause analysis (RCA) for process safety incidents and recommend corrective actions.
Review & Support Management of Change (MOC): To evaluate process modifications for potential safety impacts and ensure proper documentation.
Provide Technical Safety Support: To assist engineering and operations teams with hazard controls, emergency response planning, and best practices.
Support Safety Training & Awareness: To help develop and conduct process safety training programs to enhance workforce safety knowledge.
Analyze Safety Performance & Drive Improvements: To evaluate incident trends, equipment reliability, and safety data to enhance process safety.
Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: To work with operations, maintenance, and regulatory bodies to integrate safety into daily processes.
