The Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing mechanical activities at the site, including installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery. The role involves supervising technicians, ensuring safety compliance, and coordinating with project and engineering teams to ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and to required standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate daily mechanical work at the project or plant site.
Ensure mechanical installation, testing, and commissioning are completed according to specifications and standards.
Monitor progress of work and provide technical guidance to mechanical technicians and contractors.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical issues in a timely manner.
Prepare and maintain daily reports, material usage records, and manpower deployment logs.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, permit-to-work systems, and company HSE policies.
Assist in planning maintenance schedules and preventive maintenance activities.
Coordinate with engineers, QA/QC inspectors, and other departments for seamless project execution.
Assist in material take-offs, requisitions, and tool allocation.
Qualifications:
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
5+ years of experience in mechanical supervision, preferably in construction, oil & gas, manufacturing, or power industries.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems (pumps, piping, HVAC, rotating equipment, etc.).
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and specifications.
