The QC Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Inspector ensures that all electrical and instrumentation installations and materials comply with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements. The role involves inspecting, testing, and documenting quality control processes at various stages of construction or commissioning, especially in industries like oil & gas, power, and industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect and verify electrical and instrumentation installations against approved drawings and specifications
Ensure compliance with international standards (e.g., IEC, NEC, IEEE) and safety codes
Conduct inspections for cable trays, cable laying, glanding, terminations, earthing, and instrument loop checks
Witness and verify electrical tests such as insulation resistance, continuity, hi-pot testing, etc.
Supervise and inspect instrument calibration and loop checking activities
Check installation of junction boxes, control panels, grounding systems, and wiring
Prepare and maintain inspection records, test plans, and quality documentation (e.g., ITPs, checklists, RFIs)
Report any non-conformances (NCRs) and ensure corrective/preventive actions are implemented
Coordinate with construction teams, contractors, and client representatives for quality-related matters
Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities related to E&I
Ensure HSE standards are followed during inspection activities
