A Specialist Radiologist is a licensed medical doctor who specializes in diagnosing and sometimes treating diseases and injuries using medical imaging techniques such as X-rays, CT scans, MRI, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. The role involves interpreting imaging results, preparing reports, and collaborating with referring physicians to guide patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

Interpret diagnostic imaging results including X-rays, MRI, CT scans, ultrasounds, and mammograms
Prepare accurate and timely radiology reports for referring physicians
Consult with clinicians and specialists to discuss findings and assist in diagnosis and treatment planning
Ensure all imaging procedures are carried out safely and efficiently
Supervise and guide radiology technicians and junior doctors (if applicable)
Participate in image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures (e.g., biopsies, drainages)

Qualifications:

Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent)
Postgraduate qualification in Radiology (e.g., MD, DNB, FRCR, or equivalent)
Valid license or eligibility to practice as a Specialist Radiologist in the country of employment (e.g., DHA, MOH, HAAD in UAE)
Several years of clinical experience in diagnostic radiology
Proficiency in using radiology equipment and PACS systems
