The Junior Pastry Chef assists in the preparation, baking, and presentation of pastries, desserts, breads, and other baked goods. Working under the supervision of senior pastry chefs, they help maintain high culinary standards, cleanliness, and consistency in the pastry section.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in preparing a variety of pastries, cakes, cookies, breads, and plated desserts.
Follow recipes, techniques, and plating guidelines provided by the Pastry Chef.
Maintain proper storage and handling of all baking ingredients and tools.
Ensure cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen section at all times.
Support senior pastry staff in daily production and service duties.
Assist in monitoring inventory and restocking supplies as needed.
Ensure compliance with hygiene, food safety, and sanitation standards.
Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, and dough sheeters safely.
Help with decorating and assembling desserts for service or events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Diploma or certification in Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts, or Bakery preferred.
1–2 years of experience in a pastry or bakery kitchen (internship or entry-level role).
Basic knowledge of baking techniques and dessert preparation.
Passion for pastry and keen attention to detail.
Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
