We are seeking an experienced and skilled Accountant to join our shipping company's finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the company's financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The role involves preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, and providing financial analysis and support to the management team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
2. Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
3. Manage and reconcile bank statements, credit cards, and other financial accounts.
4. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
5. Analyze financial data and provide insights to support business decisions.
6. Manage and process accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing and payment tracking.
7. Collaborate with logistics and operations teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
8. Prepare and submit tax returns, VAT, and other statutory filings.
9. Conduct internal audits and implement corrective actions.
10. Provide financial support and guidance to the management team.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
2. Professional certification (ACCA, CA, or equivalent) preferred.
3. 2-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the shipping or logistics industry.
4. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
5. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and MS Office.
6. Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Shipping Industry Knowledge:
1. Familiarity with shipping industry practices and regulations (e.g., customs, tariffs).
2. Understanding of Incoterms and shipping documentation.
