Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop and implement effective safety policies, procedures, and guidelines, in line with relevant local and international regulations.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, non-compliance issues, and areas for improvement.
Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to establish and enforce safety protocols and measures.
Provide safety training to employees and subcontractors, including induction programs and toolbox talks.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and initiatives, and recommend improvements where necessary.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports on findings and recommendations.
Maintain accurate safety records, including incident reports, safety manuals, training records, and safety data sheets.
Stay updated on industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging trends in safety management.
Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate control measures to mitigate workplace hazards.
Foster a culture of safety awareness and promote the importance of safe work practices among all employees.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Safety Engineer in the Building & construction industry, preferably with knowledge of interior fitout projects.
In-depth understanding of local and international safety regulations and standards.
Strong knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, and control measures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and educate employees at all levels.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
NEBOSH or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other safety management software.
Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team.
Fluent in English (both spoken and written); knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
