Key job responsibilities
• Develop and implement safety policies and procedures
• Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments
• Investigate incidents and accidents, recommending corrective actions
• Provide safety training to employees and maintain training records
• Ensure compliance with local and federal safety regulations
• Coordinate with management to address safety concerns and implement improvements
• Maintain safety documentation and reports
A day in the life
As a safety coordinator, your day-to-day activities would likely include the following:
Safety Inspections:
• Conduct daily walk through inspections of the facility
• Perform GEMBA walks to identify potential hazards and safety concerns
Safety Meetings:
• Lead or participate in daily safety briefings with teams
• Attend and contribute to regular safety committee meetings
Incident Management:
• Respond to and investigate any safety incidents or near-misses
• Document incidents in Amazon's Gensuite system
• Assist in developing and implementing corrective actions
Safety Data Management:
• Monitor and update safety metrics and KPIs
• Maintain accurate safety records and documentation
Permit to Work System:
• Review and approve daily work permits for high-risk activities

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field • Minimum 3 year of experience in a similar role • Knowledge of UAE safety laws and regulations • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Proficiency in English and Arabic • NEBOSH IGC or equivalent safety certification preferred
