We are looking for Specialist- Windows Patch Management for Qatar location.
Key Responsibilities
1. End-to-End Windows & Endpoint Patching Lifecycle Management
• End-to-End Patching Lifecycle Management:
• Plan, test, schedule, and deploy patches for a large estate of 500+ Windows Servers (2016/2019/2022), 1,200+ Workstations, and 60+ Virtual Desktops (VDI).
• Conduct pre- and post-patch testing to validate patch compatibility and ensure system stability.
• Develop and maintain detailed patching schedules and runbooks for all environments (Dev, Staging, Prod).
• Tooling & Automation:
• Administer and optimize enterprise patch management tools (e.g., WSUS, SCCM/MECM, Azure Update Manager, Ivanti, ManageEngine).
• Automate patch deployment workflows and reporting to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Manage patch groups, deployment rings, and maintenance windows within the tooling platform.
• Compliance & Reporting:
• Generate and analyze patch compliance reports to identify gaps and ensure adherence to security baselines (e.g., CIS Benchmarks).
• Maintain near 100% patch compliance for critical and security-related updates within defined SLAs.
• Provide detailed reports for management and audit purposes.
• Risk Management & Collaboration:
• Assess patch criticality and potential business impact to prioritize deployment.
• Collaborate closely with Security, Application, and Infrastructure teams to coordinate patch cycles and mitigate risks.
• Participate in the Change Advisory Board (CAB) to present patching plans and obtain approvals.
• Incident Resolution:
• Act as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting failed deployments or patch-related system issues.
• Perform root cause analysis for patch-related incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Qualifications & Skills:
• Essential:
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise-scale Windows patch management.
• Expert-level knowledge of Windows Server (2016-2022) and Windows 10/11 client operating systems.
• Proven experience with SCCM/MECM and WSUS for patch distribution and reporting.
• Strong understanding of ITIL processes, particularly Change and Release Management.
• Excellent scripting skills (PowerShell) for automation.
• Desirable:
• Experience with VDI patching (VMware Horizon, Citrix).
• Familiarity with Azure Arc and cloud-based update management.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate).
