Role Overview:
The Project Engineer (E&I) is responsible for managing and executing Electrical & Instrumentation projects from initial site survey through final handover. This role involves coordination with clients, vendors, and internal teams, ensuring that all technical, commercial, and safety requirements are met in compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Site Survey & Technical Assessment
Conduct detailed site surveys to gather technical data and verify existing site conditions.
Prepare site visit reports and highlight risks, constraints, and design considerations.
2. BOQ & Estimation
Prepare accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and Material Take-Offs (MTOs).
Perform cost estimation for materials, labor, and subcontracting services.
Support techno-commercial proposal preparation.
3. Technical Queries & Change Management
Prepare and submit Technical Queries (TQs) to resolve design/clarification issues.
Identify variations and prepare Change Orders with proper justification and cost impact.
4. Procurement & Documentation
Prepare procurement documents, including Material Requisitions (MR), Material Submittals (MS), and Non-Material Requisitions (NMR).
Coordinate with vendors for quotations, technical evaluations, and material deliveries.
Ensure all documents comply with company and client (e.g., ARAMCO) standards.
5. Project Execution
Supervise and coordinate site activities to ensure safe and timely execution.
Implement project schedules, quality control measures, and safety requirements.
Provide technical support to site teams and resolve execution issues.
6. Testing, Commissioning & Handover
Coordinate inspection, testing, and commissioning of E&I systems.
Prepare as-built drawings, redlines, test reports, and final documentation.
Ensure smooth handover of completed works to the client.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Electronics Engineering.
Minimum 3–8 years experience in E&I project execution (Oil & Gas preferred).
Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation, TQs, and E&I standards.
Experience with procurement workflows (MR, MS, NMR).
Familiar with safety standards, especially for industrial and Oil & Gas sites.
Excellent communication, client-handling, and documentation skills.
