Job Summary:
The MEP Site Mechanical Engineer is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and ensuring the proper execution of all mechanical works on site, including HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, and other building services. The engineer ensures that all works comply with design specifications, project requirements, and quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and monitor all mechanical site activities to ensure work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and project schedule.
Coordinate with other disciplines (electrical, civil, and architectural) to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth progress on site.
Review shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements for mechanical systems.
Ensure installation and testing of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, etc.) are carried out as per approved standards and codes.
Conduct site inspections and ensure the quality of mechanical installations.
Prepare daily and weekly progress reports and submit them to the Construction Manager.
Liaise with consultants and clients to obtain necessary approvals and clarifications.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company HSE policies on site.
Support commissioning activities and assist in testing and balancing of systems before final handover.
Maintain updated documentation and records for all mechanical works.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of experience in MEP construction projects (preferably in large-scale ).
Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire fighting systems.
Familiar with international standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, etc.).
Proficient in reading technical drawings and using AutoCAD or Revit.
Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple site activities.
