Job Specific Accountabilities

Artificial Intelligence

Develop and maintain ADNOC’s offshore artificial intelligence strategy for exploration, development, and production.
Create and update ADNOC’s offshore artificial intelligence guidelines, setting minimum requirements for technical departments and projects.
Collaborate with discipline engineers and subject matter experts to produce adaptable AI systems capable of evolving with additional data.
Conduct brainstorming sessions and technical workshops to identify opportunities for AI implementation and prioritization.
Perform market surveys and stay updated on technological advancements in AI and data science relevant to oil & gas; evaluate top-ranked technologies.
Develop scalable tools utilizing deep learning models for applications such as voice recognition, natural language processing, and time series predictions.
Gather and generate requirements, creating roadmaps for deploying production-level AI applications.

Data Science

Model complex problems to extract insights, leveraging algorithms, statistical models, data mining, and visualization techniques.
Recommend improvements to methods and algorithms, providing business metrics and monitoring progress over multiple iterations.
Conduct workshops to educate technical teams on AI principles, fostering organizational buy-in and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Design and deploy advanced analytic models; lead big data initiatives and coordinate cross-functional analytics.
Work with diverse data types (sensor data, logs, images, etc.) to build, validate, and maintain predictive models.
Educate both IT and business units on new analytical approaches, hypothesis testing, and statistical validation.
Collaborate with technical teams to identify analysis opportunities and appropriate data/tools.
Monitor performance of decision support systems and develop core algorithms.
Conduct proof-of-concept projects, share findings, and identify opportunities for pilot deployments.
Design and develop scalable data analytics platforms; benchmark and select data technologies.
Mentor developers and build a data science team within ADNOC.

Data Preparation

Identify relevant internal and external data sources; automate data collection processes.
Support in managing data characteristics such as volume, velocity, and variety to enhance analytics.
Capture structured and unstructured data (images, voice, text, metering data) necessary for oil & gas models.

General Responsibilities

Contribute to budget preparation and assist in implementing work plans.
Investigate variances and support performance and cost control.
Drive performance objectives aligned with company frameworks.
Develop tools and techniques for process improvements.
Seek internal process efficiencies aligned with ISO standards and best practices.

Plan, supervise, and coordinate activities within the assigned area.

Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, legislation, and sustainability guidelines.
Reports
Contribute to the preparation of MIS and progress reports for management.
Communications & Working Relationships
Interact regularly with Vice Presidents, Managers, and technical experts to identify AI requirements.

Collaborate with procurement, assets, drilling, production, and other divisions.
Engage with ADNOC HQ units, external vendors, consultants, and service providers for project support and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Petroleum, or equivalent.
Minimum Experience & Skills
At least 10 years in large-scale data science, analytics, and software development within the oil & gas industry.
Strong knowledge of NLP, ML, neural networks, and AI frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.).
Proficiency in R, SQL, Python; familiarity with Scala, Java, C/C++, MATLAB is advantageous.
Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Spotfire).
Skilled in data mining, visualization, and handling large datasets.
Expertise in data preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, classification, and regression.
Hands-on experience with supervised/unsupervised learning algorithms.
Familiarity with Big Data frameworks like Hadoop and Spark.
Strong analytical, mathematical, and statistical skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Proficient in English.
Professional Certifications
International certifications in project management, process improvement, standardization, or technology implementation.
