Major Responsibilities:
Coordinate with engineering on constructability and design issues relating to commodity installations and work sequencing.
Provides field engineering support and assistance to superintendents, supporting personnel in meeting cost and time schedules, verifies materials, equipment, and quality, and assures results meet design requirements.
Develop work plans, coordinate material take-offs and requisitions, perform and document inspections, report progress, and resolve conflicts in design and construction related to the installation and testing of electrical commodities.
Assure procedural compliance, material control, and complete and thorough documentation of inspections for completed work.
Directs or performs preparation of quantity listings of field purchased material and equipment and initiates requisitions for field material purchases.
Supports preparation of construction drawings and schedules, design of temporary construction facilities and ensures preparation of as built drawings and other job plans.
Supports planning and delivery of construction materials and equipment, assuring that proper warehousing and storage exists to ensure environmental protection.
Review's specifications, purchase orders, subcontracts, inspection reports, delivery schedules, instruction manuals, and technical data to assist and advise on site.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical and instrumentation engineering, or a related subject from an accredited university and 15 years of progressive construction or electrical engineering experience; or in lieu of a degree, 20 years of relevant experience in the MENA region and a sound understanding of the cultural norms and requirements of the region
Must be physically able to conduct field inspections and participate in project walk-downs which may require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, using fall protection and other personal protective equipment (PPE), walking on elevated platforms, walking on uneven surfaces, and maneuvering around very small and/or confined spaces.
Strong English language communication and report writing skills.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills, be a team player and have a knowledge sharing approach.
Ability to solve problems by thinking laterally and be able to understand the needs and requirements of the client and other entities – to provide technical compliance and trainings.
Must be able to work within a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural team and manage challenging multi-cultural relationships.
Must be self-driven and able to plan and execute work without direct supervision from senior management and/or peers.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Thorough knowledge of all phases of engineering, design, construction and field activities.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Design Suite software programs, ability to prepare reports, and experience in 3D and 4D modelling software
Working knowledge of Set Route application
Previous supervisory experience within electrical discipline
Knowledge and application of Zero Accident Safety Philosophy.
Broad knowledge of Construction Standard Work Process Procedures.
Thorough knowledge of current industry standards. Broad knowledge of the requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) handbook, the Supervisors ES&H Manual, the Project Safety Management Plan, and the Bechtel Core Processes to area of responsibility. Knowledge of company and project quality policies.
