Specialist Physician – Maternal & Fetal Medicine (MFM)
Location: Al Ain Region, Abu Dhabi, UAE
Facility: Tertiary / Advanced Care Hospital
Position Overview
We are recruiting a highly qualified Specialist Physician – Maternal & Fetal Medicine (MFM) to provide advanced subspecialty care in high-risk obstetrics within a tertiary-level healthcare setting in Al Ain. The successful candidate will manage complex maternal-fetal conditions and deliver comprehensive prenatal diagnostic and therapeutic services aligned with international clinical standards.
Core Clinical Responsibilities
• Management of high-risk pregnancies including:
Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (Pre-eclampsia / Eclampsia)
Gestational and pre-existing diabetes
Preterm labor and cervical insufficiency
Placental abnormalities (Placenta previa, accreta spectrum)
Multiple gestations
Autoimmune and cardiac disorders in pregnancy
• Perform and interpret:
Detailed Level II fetal anomaly scans
First-trimester screening and NT scans
Fetal growth and Doppler studies
Fetal echocardiography (if trained)
• Conduct invasive prenatal diagnostic procedures:
Amniocentesis
Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS)
Cordocentesis (if applicable)
• Provide antenatal counseling for congenital anomalies and genetic disorders
• Develop multidisciplinary management plans in coordination with Neonatology, Pediatric Cardiology, Genetics, and ICU teams
• Participate in maternal morbidity & mortality reviews and clinical audits
• Ensure compliance with DOH regulations and international obstetric safety protocols
Qualifications & Professional Requirements
• MBBS or equivalent medical degree
• Recognized Specialization / Fellowship in Maternal & Fetal Medicine
• DOH License or DOH Exam Passer (Abu Dhabi)
• Dataflow Completed
• Minimum 3–5 years of post-specialty experience in tertiary care setting
• Proven competency in advanced fetal imaging and invasive procedures
• Strong clinical decision-making and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
