Project Overview:
The Ar Rjum Project comprises a green field gold project with three open pit mining operations with associated waste dumps and ore stockpile, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and supporting infrastructure including water supply, power supply, maintenance facilities, offices, temporary and permanent accommodation village. The Project is situated within the Central Arabian Gold Region, approximately 200 km north-east of Taif towards Riyadh and about 26 km South of Al Mouwayh, which is a small town situated on the Jeddah – Riyadh highway.
Job Summary:
QA/QC Inspector reports to the Project Quality Manager and verifies implementation of the quality program across project functions; engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning.
This role ensures compliance with project and ISO 9001 requirements, supports the development of quality management system tools and metrics for monitoring quality performance, coordinates audits and inspections/surveillances, follows and updates corrective actions, and provides support to project teams on quality matters and improvement.
QA/QC inspector will be responsible for performing random on-site monitoring and surveillance to ensure that the preset practices are followed and the required level of quality is achieved.
In addition, the QA/QC inspector will be responsible for assisting in the scheduling project audits and surveillances.
Major Responsibilities:
Assist the Quality Manager and QA Lead in implementing and communicating the project quality program/plan requirements to the project team.
Support the implementation of People-Based Quality (PBQ), Lessons Learned, Closed Loop Corrective Actions, Continuous Improvement initiatives, and Best Practices, including the collection, evaluation, and documentation of lessons learned in the appropriate registers.
Prepare quality audit checklists and coordinate and support internal and external audits and surveillances of project quality programs, including vendor, contractor, and subcontractor assessments.
Collect information and data on work-process for further analysis and assess process and project performance as required by the established metrics for the project.
Maintain liaison with client quality representatives and support the Quality Manager during client or regulatory audits.
Support the development and execution of the Project Quality Audit & Surveillance Schedule, ensuring timely follow-up and closure of audit findings and corrective actions.
Monitor quality activities across engineering, procurement, and construction to ensure compliance with approved quality plans, procedures, and specifications, and review related documents for inclusion of quality requirements.
Review and propose approval of the quality control procedures and plans used by potential suppliers and sub-contractors to make sure that work will meet project requirements.
Assist the review and determine applicable quality and regulatory requirements, report new or revised regulations, and support the development and revision of QA procedures and project-specific quality documentation.
Coordinate and perform inspections and surveillances at site and vendor locations, maintain accurate inspection records,
Reporting Non-Conformances identified as per the project Control of Non-Conforming items procedure and updating the Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) register.
Assisting with the determination of suitable correction, corrective and / or preventive action to address identified Non Conformances on the project.
Assist in root cause analysis and closed-loop corrective action processes to ensure timely resolution and closure of findings.
Updating the Quality Manager and QA Leads on Quality issues occurring on the project, including "Lessons Learned".
Participate in the prequalification of subcontractors and suppliers by collecting data and evaluating their quality systems, capabilities, and controls, and reviewing their submittals such as quality manuals, procedures, quality plans, ITPs, resumes for quality personnel, test reports, audit reports, and schedules.
Support the Quality Manager and QA Lead in provide training and guidance to project personnel on quality requirements and procedures and conduct project QMS orientation and awareness sessions as applicable.
Report quality weekly/monthly progress to the project quality manager.
Update the Quality Dashboard and support the measurement and analysis.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline (required).
ISO 9001:2015 Certified Lead Auditor (IRCA approved) – required.
Additional certifications in Quality (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean) – preferred.
5-9 years of relevant experience in construction/consultation industry.
Experience in QA/QC activities across engineering, procurement, and construction phases.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Strong understanding of quality assurance principles and ISO standards.
Ability to evaluate and review quality plans and procedures.
Expertise in professional reporting.
Strong analytical skills with practical knowledge of how to identify key performance quality matrices, proficiency in root cause analysis and corrective action systems.
Ability in providing direction and on the job training to assigned personnel.
Proficiency in oral and written communications.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management and presentation skills.
Proven skills in Microsoft Office, TEAMS, Power BI (High Level Performance).
Ability to work collaboratively under the direction of the Quality Manager and coordinate quality activities effectively.
Experience in conducting training, preparing training documents and reports especially in soft skills, quality audits/ surveillances.
