Job Title: Operation and Maintenance Area Manager – Water & Wastewater Operations
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operation and maintenance activities for water and wastewater systems
Manage treatment plant operations and distribution/collection networks
Lead and supervise field teams to ensure efficient execution of maintenance tasks
Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance strategies
Monitor system performance and ensure compliance with operational KPIs
Manage contractors and service providers in operational environments
Optimize maintenance systems, work management processes, and resource allocation
Support NRW (Non-Revenue Water) reduction initiatives and field activities
Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
Requirements & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
8–12+ years of experience in water/wastewater O&M operations
Strong expertise in network systems and/or treatment plant operations
Proven experience in managing field operations and maintenance execution
Hands-on experience in contractor and service provider management
Demonstrated leadership experience in managing operational teams
Knowledge of maintenance systems, asset management, and work planning tools
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills
Relevant certifications in operations, maintenance, or project management are an advantage
Average Market Salary (Estimated):
OMR 2,000 – OMR 3,500 per month (based on experience level and utilities sector benchmarks in Oman)
