The HSE Engineer is responsible for implementing and monitoring health, safety, and environmental policies at construction sites. The role ensures compliance with UAE regulations, minimizes risks, and promotes a strong safety culture across all project activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines
Ensure compliance with UAE legal requirements and client HSE standards
Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits regularly
Identify hazards and implement corrective and preventive actions
Prepare Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Method Statements, and Risk Assessments (RAMS)
Monitor work activities to ensure safe practices (working at height, lifting, excavation, etc.)
Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training sessions
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare detailed reports
Maintain HSE documentation, reports, and records
Coordinate with project managers, consultants, and authorities on safety matters
Ensure proper use of PPE and safety equipment on-site
Monitor environmental compliance (waste management, pollution control, etc.)
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferably Civil/Mechanical/Environmental)
Minimum 5 years of UAE experience in construction contracting (mandatory)
NEBOSH IGC (mandatory)
Additional certifications (IOSH, OSHA) preferred
