Senior Accountant
Job Location : Kuwait
Job duties and responsibilities:
• Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and account reconciliations.
• Oversee accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R) activities.
• Ensure proper documentation and posting of all accounting transactions.
• Review and validate expense reports and vendor invoices.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Support external and internal audit requirements.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Analyze account balances and variances; provide explanations.
• Prepare accruals, provisions, and adjusting entries.
• Support management with financial performance analysis.
• Provide recommendations to improve financial efficiency.
• Process Improvement
• Implement and enhance internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Recommend improvements to financial processes and systems.
• Support automation initiatives to increase efficiency.
• Team Support
• Assist in supervision, training, and onboarding of junior accounting staff.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, HR, operations, and other teams.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional certification preferred: CPA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5–7 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, ERP systems).
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
