Job Summary
Responsible for managing procurement, logistics, inventory, and supplier coordination to support shipbuilding and repair operations efficiently and cost-effectively.
š¹ Key Responsibilities
1. Procurement & Vendor Management
Source suppliers for marine equipment, spare parts, and materials
Prepare RFQs, purchase orders, and contracts
Negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, and terms
Evaluate supplier performance and maintain vendor database
2. Inventory & Materials Control
Monitor stock levels for shipyard materials and spare parts
Ensure availability of critical components for projects
Maintain inventory records in ERP systems
Reduce excess stock and avoid shortages
3. Logistics & Coordination
Coordinate inbound/outbound shipments (local & international)
Track deliveries and ensure timely arrival to site
Liaise with freight forwarders, customs, and transport providers
Handle documentation (invoices, shipping docs, customs clearance)
4. Project & Operations Support
Work closely with engineering, production, and project teams
Ensure materials align with project timelines (ship repair/build schedules)
Support urgent procurement for breakdowns or critical jobs
