The Telecom Field Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of telecom network equipment to ensure maximum network availability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of telecom network equipment.
• Troubleshoot and rectify faults in 2G/3G/4G/5G radio access networks.
• Install, commission, and integrate telecom equipment at BTS sites.
• Perform hardware replacement, software upgrades, and configuration changes.
• Conduct fiber optic testing, splicing, and cable fault identification when required.
• Coordinate with the Network Operations Center (NOC) for fault resolution and outage restoration.
• Carry out site acceptance testing (SAT) and quality inspections.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and telecom standards.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and meet agreed service level agreements (SLAs).
Qualifications
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Valid Qatar Driving License (Mandatory).
• 3–7 years of telecom field maintenance experience (GSM/LTE/5G preferred).
• Experience with Ericsson, Huawei, Nokia, or ZTE equipment is an advantage.
• Knowledge of microwave links, power systems, and batteries.
• Familiarity with telecom testing tools such as OTDR, power meter, and site analyzers.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work outdoors, at heights, and on a 24/7 on-call rotation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and technical reporting.
