Service Mechanic

Job Location : Doha, Qatar

Typical Duties & Responsibilities :

• Check service intervals against operating hours or dates, and flag overdue maintenance before marking a service complete.
• Apply the specified lubricant at service points, checking the product and quantity to avoid poor lubrication or overfilling.
• Examine filters and strainers during routine servicing, and note unusual debris that may call for further checks.
• Adjust mechanical linkages within the relevant limits, then confirm free movement and secure locking at the adjustment points.
• Inspect replacement consumables before fitting them, and set aside damaged items so they do not enter service.
• Identify worn protective covers and exposed moving parts, and flag hazards for correction before anyone uses the equipment.
• Check service tools for damage and suitable measuring ranges, removing unreliable items from the tools available for work.
• Prepare parts requests with clear component references and quantities, so the person ordering can identify the correct items.

Useful Skills & Competencies :

• Mechanical reasoning: Understand how force, motion and wear interact, so similar symptoms do not lead to quick assumptions.
• Technical reading: Interpret diagrams, part references and specification tables to understand how components fit and function together.
• Measurement judgement: Recognise instrument limits and inconsistent readings, helping separate useful evidence from results that need another check.
• Manual precision: Control tool position and handling pressure to protect seals, mating surfaces and small parts from damage.
• Risk awareness: Recognise stored energy and contamination hazards, including situations that need specialist help rather than improvised action.
• Technical communication: Explain findings and uncertainty in everyday language, giving colleagues enough detail to make sound maintenance decisions.
