He is a Trade Tested Boilermaker with experience working in the Mining, Construction, Petrochemical and Oil & Gas sector, he has been gaining his experience in his field of work since 1999 where he has been working for a company in Mossel bay at Petro-SA (Mossgas) as a Supervisor and acting Senior Supervisor on all projects on the FA-Platform, South Sea’s Driller doing maintenance on tube bundles, piping, painting, welding, chemical cleaning and HP-cleaning. He worked for Sasol where he received his Trade as a Boilermaker thereafter he worked for Fluor Daniels on Sasol’s new Turbo Project as a Boilermaker, Pipe Fitter and Welding Inspector. He now proudly holds the title as Mechanical Supervisor working for the Saudi Arabia Company Maaden Phosphate MWSPC Beneficiation POC/SOC (Ore Crushing and Secondary Ore Crushing) area.

• He was part of the remodeling of a wash plant MAG Separator Sumps in 2009 and completed it within 4 days before the deadline.
• He was part of the upgrading of a mine in 2010 to 2012 where he had to refurbish the old stacker conveyor, which he finished before time and made it more efficient
• He was part of building a new Crushing/Screening Plant and Blending Plant
• He was working on the Project Lion Xstrata in 2005 Smelter, the travel grid was allocated to his team
EXPERTISE:
Mechanical Supervisor/Shutdown Coordinator (Mining & Gas & Power & Utilities)
• Pre-Shutdown strategy and coordinate the preparation of the shutdown schedule both for long-term planning and preparation, and efficient execution and to develop and recommend the overall shutdown strategy.
• Identify spares, bottle necks, manpower requirements, safety aspects within and contractor based, legal and governmental aspects off contracts and audits.
• Pre-shut meetings with schedulers, planners, contractors and other service providers for shutdown readiness, shortcomings and feedback to the Directors and into the live systems.
• Monitoring and keeping track of the whole shutdown by doing site walks and interaction between the maintenance departments, safety departments, contractors and all other service providers.
• Postmortem meetings for lessons learned for better shutdown preparation and execution on the next maintenance, shutdowns, down days or turnarounds.
• Keeping a close eye on the live planning system where contractors, staff, service providers are all being tracked and measured upon.
• Working closely with production an all key stakeholders on Lock-out Tag-out, Safe work procedures, risk assessments, rescue plans, emergency response and scenario’s that could happen, so we can identify and manage the risks or eliminate them.
• Keeping a close eye on the budgets, spares, overtime, consumables, PPE and making sure that contractual agreements are met by both parties.
• Monthly meetings with procurement, planning, management, operations, safety, head office and our maintenance teams for all issues that comes up for streamlining and promoting team support from the ground up to the top.
• Keeping track of all the spares, consumables, material, machinery and labor needed for all projects, shutdowns and turnarounds.
Shutdown Construction Manager (Oil & Gas & Mining & Power & Utilities &Petrochemical)
• General supervision and management of the projects assigned and allocated to me.
• Contractor, Service providers and staff safety meetings and campaigns for a positive safety approach to the projects, shutdowns and turnarounds.
• Contractual and budget meetings with all stakeholders with the intent of identifying leaner and safer execution on all aspects of work.
• Daily safety walks (VFL) visual field leadership to help, assist, interact with workforce, promote, keeping track of safety, progress on projects for reporting back and taking images(photos) for the VP.
• Inspections on all the sites, scope of work, method statements based upon the contractual agreement between all parties.
• Daily pre-start meetings, progress meetings and handover meetings to keep all other team members, colleagues informed and up to date on all the projects.

• Installation/Demolition of the new and old TAR plant tanks and all Mechanical, Piping, Welding supervision of staff and Construction duties that is required the client.
• Did the Tank replacement, then moved on to the CTFE Project where he constructed the new Tar separator plant that consisted of Structural, Piping, Mechanical, Welding and Civil works.
