? Previously worked in Qatar for a leading construction company, employing over 1,000 staff on a variety of building, infrastructure and electromechanical projects. Tasked with managing post-contract works on a new build construction project, the new headquarters of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, valued at QAR1.1bn (LKR45.1bn). The project is a 21-acre site with five interconnected three-floor buildings with associated landscaping and water features.
? Worked as part of a team of five in the commercial department reporting to the Commercial Manager and Project Manager, responsible for all cost planning and commercial management.
? The project commenced in 2011 but internal works were suspended in 2012 pending a complete redesign of the interior and fit out works (about 50% of the project value). The client then revised approximately 4,000 drawings, resulting in major variations claims that lasted over a year.
