I am a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) with extensive experience in the Internal Auditing field. Currently I am a Contract Internal Audit Manager and VAT Specialist at ECG Consulting in Dubai. I also lecture Internal Audit (CIA) Part time at Evanson Training also in Dubai. My experience includes five years as part of a consortium of firms doing outsourced internal audit for Transnet (Rail & Ports South Africa). Whilst I was formally employed by Sekelaxabiso I was working seconded to a team which comprised KPMG staff for five years and I reported to the KPMG Partner. I also worked for many years as a Finance Manager for Stock listed firms in Zimbabwe. I oversaw the entire finance portfolio up to the reporting stage. Also supervised the various accounts departments namely, creditors, debtors, inventory, Costing and general administration. I was responsible for the final accounts, internal controls, budgeting and budgetary control. I am also a VAT specialist (African experience based on Western Europe model), I headed the VAT implementation team at Gulliver Consolidated and was also responsible for VAT compliance for the entire Group after implementation.
