• Carry out all the laboratory investigations according to HAAD standards
• Performing daily quality control and proficiency testing by CAP
• Well aware of proficiency testing system with various international quality control agencies like RIQAS and CAP
• Participate in CAP & ISO 15189 accreditation
• Calibration and basic maintenance of different analyzers
• Main responsibility as senior of microbiology lab, Processing of Microbiology sample: _ Culture and sensitivity for all biological specimens using vitect2 compact for Identification and sensitivity and Bact/alert for blood culture, also manual identification using Biochemical tests , API and other Identification procedure
• Mycological examination by microscope and culture.
• Seminal analysis.
• Can operate Semi- automated and automated laboratory equipment.
• Can handle sophisticated analyzers like Elecsys 2010,Cobas U 701/601,Cobasintegra 400 plus , Cobas 6000, Architect Machine,Biorad D10, Sysmex XT 1800i , Sysmex XS 500i, Chorus trio, BD Affirm for VPIII-DNA Probe
• Assumes duties and responsibilities for infection control activities under the direction of Microbiology pathologist. Coordinates and plans all needed activities/ programs to implement Infection Control standards.
• Proficient in collection and handling of all kind of human specimen and laboratory equipment.
• Manual checking and trouble shooting in case of doubtful results and erring machines/ equipment.
• Performs laboratory procedures with efficiency and accuracy.
• Able to lead, supervise and assist subordinates in the performing variety of standard laboratory tests and procedures.
• Able to provide clerical support, supply requests and procurement, and administrative support required for laboratory administration.
• Design training programs for new laboratory technical specialists and laboratory technicians, to ensure their smooth integration into the laboratory team.
• Assists in documentation for licensing, updating policies and requirements for CAP Accreditation.
• Successfully finished attending Basic Life Support Training Seminar and Fire Safety.
• Participate on CAP competency assessment program with CE unit.
