Dear Educators,
I gained 30 years of experience in education varying from Computer Science, Maths, Theory of Knowledge, Film, French, English teacher to High School Principal, vice -principal, KG-12 Vice Principal, College Dean, College Instructor, IB-AP Coordinator and lately KG – 12 school Principal/Founder along with workshop leader in many symposiums and within a lot of schools training teachers through the mission of education. The diversity of my tasks in education complies with the diversity of the countries I worked in, From Lebanon to the USA and in the last 12 years in the UAE. Last but Not Least, I am the author of more than 16 Computer Science Workbooks for grades 1 to 12, and I designed and reviewed many curricula in my long journey of education. I am a certified Computer Science teacher and Principal from the State of CA - USA.
I established and molded New Pedagogical approaches as the Multi – Layered Curriculum , One Subject Called Knowledge and implemented them successfully in the school that I found 3 years ago.
I designed, developed and implemented more than 30 curricular modules within my 30 years of experience varying from the IB – AP, College Courses in the USA and reaching to the American Curriculum (Virginia and Common Core).
I established seven performance standards for a complete summative evaluation framework to observe, evaluate, train and monitor teachers and instructors.
I founded, presided and managed effectively two schools and one college faculty dept. for the last 31 years.
I believe that 1 + 1 is never equal to 2 in education, I believe that Education is not a factory of rules and procedures, on the contrary it prepares the right generations so that they can create the appropriate rules and procedures.
I believe in a complete Curriculum - Classroom Differentiation within a complete vertical - horizontal - co-curricular and extra - curricular integration.
As we discussed in the IBO Middle – East – Europe – North Africa general convention in Roma in 2014, we do not need anymore the virtual wall of different subjects between us and the students, we just need one reflective mirror called KNOWLEDGE.
I believe in a student centered safe and secure learning and teaching environment, where the teacher is the facilitator facilitating to our students the unlimited inquiry and exploration of knowledge through the different ways and areas of knowledge, nurturing the Risk Taker, Independent Learner, Communicative Inquirer, Future Global Minded Leader and The Non – Conventional Critical Thinker Traits within our students.
Today, leadership is no more a group of hanging titles on your wall or a series of degrees far away from the reality, Leadership is to guide your team members thru the long journey of education and let them believe that all of them are leaders, challengers and followers for the sacred mission of education making sure that the eternal legacy of their entity and school will always prevail.
My preferred subjects are Theory Knowledge and Film, TOK is in my humble opinion the main core element of IB, and Film is the product of all Arts, believing always that Arts is the mother of all sciences.
My preferred hobby is to prepare new themed, differentiated workshops and interesting, needed modules, afterwards conduct those workshops and share the content with my fellow educators.
And I am ready to implement and share my beliefs in any entity that will be ready to tackle the 21st century challenges to be conquered by our children for their Legacy and the entity Legacy.
