Job Position – Systems Engineer – Linux & Virtualization

Looking for a hands-on Systems Engineer with experience managing Linux environments and virtual infrastructure using VMware. This is a mid-level role ideal for candidates who want to sharpen their existing skills and grow into cloud technologies like OpenStack or CloudStack. You’ll work in a collaborative environment and help shape the evolving infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Deploy, configure, and maintain VMware ESXi hosts and vCenter environments
Administer and troubleshoot Linux systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
Monitor system health and resolve OS, virtualization, and basic network issues
Apply updates, security patches, and perform scheduled maintenance
Maintain and test system backups and recovery procedures
Implement security best practices across Linux and virtual infrastructure
Automate routine tasks using Bash and CLI tools
Document procedures, configurations, and system standards
Collaborate with IT teams on performance tuning, capacity planning, and support
Required Skills & Experience:
2+ years with VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter)
Solid Linux system administration skills
Familiarity with storage systems (SAN/NAS) and backups (Veeam)
Comfortable with shell scripting (Bash) for automation
Basic understanding of virtualization networking and high availability
Willingness to learn cloud platforms and contribute to migration projects
Nice to Have (Not Required, but preferred)
Exposure to OpenStack, CloudStack, or other IaaS platforms
Experience with Bash, Ansible, or Python scripting
Linux or VMware certifications (e.g., RHCSA, VCP)
Awareness of Windows Server administration
