Plumbing And Fire Protection Lead

Job Location: Riyadh

Scope of work :

• Lead and assign appropriate task to the reporting team members for timely completion of design deliverables
• Conduct design reviews and providing technical comments for mechanical plumbing system for upcoming projects.
• Conduct detailed technical studies related to existing mechanical plumbing and fire systems.
• Enhancement of KAUST Engineering standards for Mechanical (Plumbing) division.
• Update, revise & waive (if necessary) the KAUST Standards and design criteria as the Chairman of mechanical plumbing technical committee.
• Develop conceptual designs, SOW and BOQ for all mechanical plumbing and fire system related Project Requests.
• Provide technical support for mechanical plumbing and fire system related engineering design deliverables with respect to compliance with international engineering standards and procedures, relevant industry standards and good engineering practices.
• Able to perform as a Technical Authority in the Mechanical plumbing and fire system discipline during upgrades, modifications and rectifications and prepares Technical Reports
• Provide technical support for all ongoing and upcoming projects in KAUST.
• Sufficient experience to understand and communicate project critical issues to other engineering specialist after meetings and discussions.
• Ensures that new projects are in compliance with mechanical plumbing and fire system codes and standards.
• Monitors work flows and schedules with designated contractors.
• Detailed knowledge of/familiar with applicable International codes and standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, IBC, ANSI and ASME standards etc.).
• Preparing technical assessments and Conceptual designs for upcoming new projects.
• Review of technical queries, technical submittal related to material selection.
• Coordinate with KAUST stakeholders for assigned tasks.
• Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of the employee’s knowledge, skills and abilities in the field of his/her position.


• Extensive knowledge and familiarity with Engineering and design process
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Bachelor degree in Engineering.
• At least (7) seven years of experience in managing engineering teams, project management, or similar role.
