SUMMARY

OBJECTIVE
- Responsible for provision of overall cost & planning services for the Contracts, ensuring overall planning integration and quality project control.
- Responsible and accountable for managing the project control & planning processes, ensuring consistency, quality across engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning, considering HSE requirements.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Responsible for the provision of overall Planning, Scheduling, Monitoring and reporting of the Project progress, Managing the planning process,
- Accountable for managing the development and delivery of integrated plans in accordance with the project activities and mile stones, setting out planning standards and guidelines, ensuring that site planners are meeting schedule and compiling the Monthly Progress Reports.
- Shall work closely with Contract Manager and Project Engineer on the overall project plan build and execute progress reporting on costs and schedule.
- Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the overall project schedule to ensure optimization of resources and control of all associated project work.
- Ensure effective co-ordination within the planning team and to its external interfaces.
- Monitors engineering schedules to ensure that the engineering deliverables are scheduled to meet construction requirements.
- Provides weekly reports of engineering and procurement progress, and informs to management on areas of concern and advice remedial actions and alternatives to maintain the schedule.
- Monitors contractor, vendors' and sub-contractors schedules to ensure that the project has a realistic and achievable construction schedule.
- Leads and directs other Planning / Schedule Engineer.
- Provide expert support ensuring consistency with standard durations.
- Prepare planning network for the project including scheduling and cost control.
- Operate planning tools such as SAP PS and primavera. First line System Administration of Primavera
- Analyse the project schedule in relation with other projects and highlight his comments to the project engineers.
- Ensure links between different projects are in place and understood.
- Carry out integrated project portfolio analysis.
- Responsible for overall central administration of the Primavera System comprising the following:

i. User access management including security profiles and privileges.
ii. Maintenance of standard Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Resource Breakdown Structure (RBS), for project and activity codes.
iii. Maintenance of overall integrity of the portfolio of projects in Primavera.
iv. Carry out regular analysis of project portfolio in Primavera.
v. Share best practices and lesson learned to the engineering community.
vi. Disseminate standard methodologies or practices using the Primavera Methodology management module.
vii. Provide support on all planning and scheduling issues.
viii. Generate corporate Key Performance Indicators and reports from the Primavera database.

- To develop cost and schedule control estimates and project key control documentation.
- To ensure that HSE matters are given due consideration in execution.
- To execute project planning as per contract.
- To plan to have a control over manpower and material resources in order to execute the project within budget, schedule, quality and HSE requirements.
- Shall actively participate in encouraging developing younger Omani personnel to take up Planning Engineer roles.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
- Degree in discipline specific engineering (B.Sc./B.Eng/ M.Sc) and membership of internationally accepted applicable professional Institute (preferred not mandatory).
- 10 years of experience in the design, specification, construction, commissioning and general project engineering faculties within oil & gas facilities development projects with experience project cost and planning systems.
- Minimum 5 year experience in Primavera p3e and SAP.

- Sound commercial appreciation and judgement.
- Knowledge of project control tools.
- Analytical, interpersonal, negotiation & communication skills
- Ability to cope with stress, independent thinking, decisiveness and a strong focus on results.
- Documentation Skills.
- High level proficiency in the use of data management and Primavera planning software programmes.
- Able to design and test logic precedence networks and systems for the project activities planning, monitoring and coordination.
- Able to develop expertise in the Clients SAP, Primavera P6 planning software.

- Training & mentoring young professionals.
