Functions Descriptions:
Troubleshoot malfunctions in brakes, motors, and switches. Dismantle elevators, escalators, or similar units to remove and replace defective parts, using hoists, ladders, and hand tools or power tools. Repair or replace faulty components to return elevator or escalator to fully operational status.
Responsibilities:
• Overseeing the installation of elevators in all stages and types (Geared and Gearless).
• Ability to assemble elevator cabinet.
• Ability to install the elevator motor as per standard.
• Ability to install overspeed governor.
• Responding to mechanical failures and system malfunctions.
• Servicing and maintaining machine parts.
• Repairing or replacing system parts.
• Oiling and greasing moving parts.
• Ability to conduct PPM.
• Ability to prepare malfunctions and recommendations report.
• Carrying out safety checks.
• Maintaining stock and ordering supplies.
• Preparing installation stage material requirements list.
• Ability to install and dismantle scaffolding.
• Maintaining a clean working area.
Job Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED.
• Relevant mechanical certification.
• Previous work experience as an elevator mechanic (More than 5 years).
• Advanced knowledge of elevator systems, mechanical walkways, and escalators.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical malfunctions.
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects.
• Ability to travel and work after hours when required.
• Ability to work independently
