About the job

We are seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst to join our team. The primary purpose of this role is to identify, define, and document business processes and software requirements to be developed into IT solutions. As a liaison between business and IT teams, you will bridge the communication gap and align software development objectives with both stated and unstated business needs, thereby increasing internal customer confidence and satisfaction.

You will work closely with stakeholders to ensure business requirements are clearly defined and effectively translated into functional IT solutions, ultimately supporting our Group IT development teams to develop software that drives business success.

Job requirements
Responsibilities

1. Build Relationships Across the Organisation

Conduct interviews, workshops, surveys, and site visits to understand business requirements.

Identify explicit and implicit needs of stakeholders and prioritise requirements accordingly.

Resolve competing priorities and escalate issues when necessary to ensure alignment.

2. Develop Knowledge of Operations and Supporting Services in GAC

Gain an in-depth understanding of GAC's management, operational, and financial processes.

Use this knowledge to recommend effective IT solutions and document high-quality requirements.

3. Translate Business Processes into IT Solutions

Utilise data modelling and solution design techniques to recommend and design IT solutions.

Work with IT teams to ensure business needs are met effectively through optimal IT solutions.

4. Drive Business Process Improvements

Act as the voice of the customer to support software development stages such as sprint planning and user story creation.

Map business processes and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements.

5. Manage Requirements Scoping Throughout the Delivery Process

Develop business case documentation, scope documents, and process flows to guide software development.

Engage stakeholders to prioritize requirements and ensure accurate test cases and deliveries.

6. Support Timely Data Sharing and Reporting

Facilitate data sharing and reporting for accurate decision-making.

Assist the DPM team in transforming IT into a tool for business execution.

Maintain and create knowledge base articles to ensure all information related to development is up to date.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills:

Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in computer science, business management, engineering, or a related field.

Experience with agile development methodologies (Kanban, Scrum), familiarity with tools such as Jira, and knowledge in one of the PM methodologies (PMP, Prince2).

Experience in process mapping and data modelling. Proficient in user interface design and prototyping. Ability to manage and track project deliverables across a large team to meet deadlines.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to present complex technical information effectively. Fluency in English (spoken and written).

Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with MS Visio or similar tools for business process mapping. Experience with SharePoint is a plus

Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Proven track record in creating business case documentation and business requirements summaries.
