Job Summary:
The NICU Nurse provides specialized nursing care to critically ill or premature newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This role involves monitoring the health and development of newborns, administering treatments, and collaborating with medical teams to ensure the best care for neonatal patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct care to neonates in the NICU, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and performing neonatal assessments.
Assist in the management of mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy, and other life-support systems.
Work closely with pediatricians, neonatologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Provide emotional support to families and offer education on neonatal care and procedures.
Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment.
Document and maintain accurate patient records, tracking the progress of neonates.
Respond to emergencies and provide immediate nursing care when required.
Qualifications:
Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid DHA license.
Proven experience working in a NICU or neonatal care setting.
Strong knowledge of neonatal assessment, respiratory support, and critical care techniques.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented, high-pressure environment.
Compassionate, patient-focused, and able to provide support to families.
